Spotlight: How to revive global cooperation

The World Economic Forum’s Global Cooperation Barometer 2025 finds bright spots even as global collaboration stalls. Progress in climate action, health outcomes and innovation are balanced by rising geopolitical divides and trade tensions. By analysing 41 indicators across trade, technology and natural capital, the report highlights the urgency of adaptive, flexible partnerships to address shared global challenges.

Accelerating the journey to net zero

Hard-to-abate sectors progress towards net zero, but fossil fuels dominate 90% of energy use. Emissions intensity has dropped 4.1% since 2019, driven by cleaner energy and innovation. The 2024 Net-Zero Industry Tracker highlights urgent actions to close investment gaps, scale key technologies and accelerate net-zero readiness such as scaling clean hydrogen production and carbon capture technologies.
